Brew's Custom Retirement Sea Chests is your only resource for handcrafted 'Fully Custom Lasered' Sea Chests, 24-inch Warfare Insignias, Desk Plaques and an occasional Monthly Special.
Started in September 2010. I have over 14 years of woodworking experience and I'm dedicated to building every customer a quality Sea Chest. Don't settle for second best or copycat knockoffs! Each Sea Chest is "CUSTOM BUILT TO ORDER" with your personal preferences and personalized lasered design ideas.
Rough estimate's for the "Brew Original" are a build-by-build bases (The more I need to laser and custom frabricate the higher the price)... These are huge! (Trunk: 39inL x 26inH x 21.5inW, Lid: 39inL x 4.5inH x 21.5inW, weighing approximately 215 pounds!) Upon arrival each Sea Chest complete and ready for immediate display, everything is included in this price except shipping. Again, each order is different and the price is always negotiable based on preferences!
I also sell traditional Philippine handcrafted 24-inch warfare insignias, Chief Petty Officer/USMC rank devices, and traditional desk plaques $140.00 to $175.00 (Shipping Included).
Yes, you can find numerous websites that sell so-called 'custom military shadow boxes/sea chest' for less. Sorry, I don't have a warehouse full of prefabricated items. It is normal to expect some delay between the time an order is placed and shipment is made. Plan ahead and allow 5-7 weeks.
High quality wood, absolutely NO PARTICLE BOARD or other cheap fillers!
Vytek laser cutting and engraving systems will ensure your Sea Chest is personalized!
I use Minwax Water Based Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner and Minwax Water Based Wood Stains on the Sea Chests!
- PINE is a softwood that grows in many varieties in various parts of the world. Ponderosa Pine, characteristics provide warmth and individuality to each crafted piece (contains numerous knots). Usually light-yellow in color, the wood has a broadly spaced striation pattern. Staining - good with lighter stains!
- POPLAR is somewhat harder and more dent-resistant than pine. Since the grain is straight and the wood is hard it will accept nails and screws more readily without splitting. Poplar is also known for having few, if any, knots so this is another reason for its popularity. Staining - good!
- MAPLE is a hardwood. It has a fine, consistent grain that makes for a handsome, uniform appearance, and it sands to a glass-smooth finish with ease. It’s stronger and more durable than other woods, so it takes everything life throws at it – and looks beautiful for years to come. Staining - Better!
- OAK is a hardwood. As it ages it becomes iron hard. It is a very strong wood and resistant to many pests and to rot. Staining - All around Excellent!
